This One Habit Will Completely Change Your Life
If there was no way you could fail at one thing, and there was a 100% chance that you’d succeed or win, what would you choose to do?
So, why aren’t you doing it?
You could justify your inaction by thinking about the chances of success and coming up with all the excuses under the sun. But the truth is, the only real thing holding you back is your lack of self-belief.
The only real reason you’re not chasing that thing right now is that you do not believe you can do it.
Self-belief, or the lack of it, quite literally decides where we go in life.
We often choose the safest and easiest routes in life, things that we believe have the highest chance of success, which, most of the time, leads to a miserable life.
So, one of the best things you could possibly do to improve yourself is to increase how much you believe you’re capable of, but how do you do it?
Facing Your Self-Doubt
The best possible way to increase your self-belief is to essentially make it more unreasonable not to.
The harsh reality of most people's levels of self-belief is that it's more than likely accurate, that’s because they haven’t given themselves any reasons to actually believe. If anything, the opposite.
Every missed workout, every cheated diet, and every snoozed alarm all compound over time and destroy your confidence. As far as your self-doubt is concerned, you’ve done a pretty good job of proving it right.
You’ve let yourself down so much that you have a very big bank of reasons why believing you can achieve something great is nothing other than delusional.
If you had gone to the store 3 times and every time they had run out of the milk that you desperately needed, you’d probably start going somewhere else. Well, what makes you think you’ll count on yourself when all you’ve done so far is let yourself down?
The good news is this can change. Just as you’ve carefully curated a bank of failures, you can outweigh and completely drown these out by simply doing the opposite, start proving yourself wrong.
Choose something hard, something you’re unsure whether you can currently do, not impossible, just hard enough to question yourself, then work as hard as you possibly can until you’ve won.
Then, repeat.
Turn and face your self-doubt, and then sprint full speed into it.
You want to basically continue chasing hard and challenging things until doubting yourself becomes the delusional thing to do.
Start at whatever level you’re at, even if it feels a million steps away from your biggest goal, and then work your way up.
If this seems like a lot of effort just to believe you can do what you want a little more, think again, because this habit will completely change your life in the process.
Start this habit now, and soon you'll be unrecognisable, even to yourself.
