There’s Just Too Much Content
When I started looking for ways to improve, it became very apparent to me extremely quickly just how much information there is out there today.
There is a guru for everything, with their own set list of reasons and evidence as to why their things is the best.
There’s a guy for Calisthenics.
One for Kettlebells.
One for Free-weights
One for Machines.
Every single one will tell you why and how their version is the best for building muscle.
Don’t even get me started with diets….
For someone just starting out, it can be very overwhelming and lead them to quit one thing for the next before getting to see any results, until eventually quitting altogether.
I’ve been there.
The same can be said for quite literally any domain. There’s an expert on resting heart rate, one for heart rate variability and one for max heart rate. There’s experts for things you’ve never even heard of.
Wherever you look, there'll be one.
For every minute, there’s more than 500 hours worth of content uploaded to Youtube. Just to put that into perspective, that’s 82 years worth of videos each day.
There’s just too much.
What does this mean for you? Well it doesn’t mean ignore everyone, and it doesn’t necessarily mean either one is incorrect.
It just means take everything you see with a pinch of salt, test things out for yourself, see what works and only implement things that actually work for you.
Not everyone you listen to is correct, and you definitely don't have to listen purely BECAUSE they're correct.
Be willing to get things wrong to get things right.
Listen, evaluate, implement, re-evaluate. Adjust if needed. Repeat.
