Improving Is The Only Option

Improving Is The Only Option

Many people like to roll their eyes at someone who delves into a "Self-improvement" journey, as though it were a cringeworthy pursuit.

And although it’s often taken too far, with the likes of ridiculous morning routines, it’s still, at least to me, non-negotiable.

I don’t just mean claiming to be on a self-improvement journey, I mean deciding to improve yourself in any way, as many people are growing, just without labels.

You see.. Time is real, and it’s not something we have any form of control over. From the moment we’re born, we’re dying. The clock is ticking.

What this suggests, as there's no way of pausing time and our bodies continue to age (at least for now), is that we’re either actively growing as the seconds, minutes, hours, and days go by, or we’re actively decaying.

Actions and habits compound massively over time, and your actions and habits are either making you healthier, fitter, stronger, smarter, happier and better or they’re doing the opposite.

There is no middle ground.

So by not making a conscious choice to improve, you’re still making a choice, you’re just choosing to get worse.

Are you better or worse than you were 5 years ago?

Now picture yourself in 5 years. If you continue to do exactly as you are right now, will you be better or worse? Because by definition, you cannot and will not be the same.

Of course, it may be easy to picture the average person who makes it to their eighties without ever deciding to actively seek their potential, and still seems to have done okay. And you’d be 100% correct. But do ask yourself this: Is an okay life seriously the highest you can aim for?
